Raumati Road Surgery is a local general practice committed to providing high-quality, equity-focused primary healthcare to our enrolled patients.
We provide a friendly, personal service and look forward to assisting you with your family’s healthcare needs.
We offer a comprehensive range of services to our enrolled population including routine consultations, chronic diseases management, menopause support, mental health support, minor surgery, wound care, immunisations, sexual health services, ECG, spirometry, cryotherapy, iron infusions, and lifestyle advice.
We offer travel medicine, dive medicine and toenail surgery services to everyone (you do not need to be an enrolled patient of the practice to book for these services – please see the services tab for more).
After-hours healthcare is provided by a telehealth connection to Ka Ora Telecare.
We are a teaching practice. We host and teach junior and senior medical students and GP registrars (doctors training to become specialist General Practitioners).

Our Fees
Our listed GP consultation fees are for standard 15-minute appointments. We offer longer appointments on request and will let you know the cost at the time of booking.
Telephone, email and patient portal consultations are charged at the same rate as in-person consultations.
Consumables (like liquid nitrogen and dressing materials), and nurse services are charged on top of our routine consultation fee.
Medicals (driver licence medicals, employment medicals, Outward Bounds and travel medicals) have no government funding contribution and are charged at different rates than standard consultations. Please advise us when booking your appointment if you require a medical.
If your visit relates to an accident that we lodge with ACC, the fee is slightly reduced as ACC pays us a portion of the consultation fee.
Fees apply for referrals, forms, letters and reports completed outside of a GP consultation.
For children under the age of 14, there is no charge for general medical service, however fees do still apply for consumables and other services that fall outside of general medical service, like forms for travel, liquid nitrogen and minor surgical procedures.
Some of our services are private medical services (incl. dive medicine, travel medicine, surgical procedures) meaning they are not general medical services, and there is no government funding contribution. These services are offered to both enrolled and non-enrolled patients and are charged at private-level fees, even if you are an enrolled patient.
There is no charge to see our Health Improvement Practitioner.
We do not routinely charge for missed appointments, however if you miss more than one appointment consecutively, or more than one appointment within 6 months, a fee equivalent to half of your standard consultation fee will be charged. If you are unable to attend your appointment, or it is no longer required, please let us know with as much notice as possible. This allows us to offer the time to someone else and keeps waiting times for appointments shorter.

Afterhours Care
There are several options for care outside of our practice hours.
In a medical emergency, always dial 111 for an ambulance.
If you need health care outside normal surgery hours, phone 04 298 6807 and you will be connected to a kaiāwhina at Ka Ora Telecare (afterhours telehealth service) who will talk to you about your symptoms and options for care. Alternatively, you can go directly to the Practice Plus website, linked below, our online healthcare partner for after-hours care, where you can follow a few simple steps to create an account and connect with a GP.
Team Medical (located at Coastlands) are available outside of our practice hours for accident/injury related medical care. Payment for their services is required prior to being seen. Please do not present to Team Medical for general medical care during our practice hours, or afterhours, without first phoning us and either speaking to our team (in hours) or to Ka Ora Telecare (after hours).
You can also call Healthline on 0800 611 116 for general medical advice, 24 hours a day. Healthline is free of charge and is staffed by an experienced team that includes registered nurses, paramedics and health advisers.
There are a variety of other options for after-hours online GP care. Health New Zealand have compiled a list called Online GP Care, linked below, of virtual care providers to give you options when accessing virtual care.
