Raumati Road Surgery is a local general practice committed to providing high-quality primary healthcare to enrolled patients in the Raumati community.

We provide a friendly, personal service and look forward to assisting you with your family healthcare needs.

We are also a teaching practice so we host and teach junior and senior medical students and GP registrars.

Dr Ruth Brown (Principal)

MBChB(Otago) DipObst FRNZCGP

Post Grad Diploma in General Practice (with distinction)

Ruth graduated with her medical degree from Otago University in 1981. She has worked as a GP on the Kapiti Coast since 1988. Originally from the South Island Ruth moved here for the work opportunities.

She has a passion for passing on her knowledge and enjoys teaching and mentoring medical students and GP registrars. Ruth has 3 young adult children. Outside of work she enjoys off-road cycling to keep fit and reading. She also walks her daughter’s dogs on the beach.

Dr Rebekah Lamb (Associate)

MBChB PGDipOMG DCH FRNZCGP

Rebekah graduated from Auckland University in 2010 and completed her GP training in the Waikato Region in 2017. She has an interest in women's and children's health, as well as tropical medicine, having worked for a year in Papua New Guinea recently. Outside of work, she enjoys tramping and baking and getting to know the community where she has recently settled in Otaki.

Dr Amanda Clarke (Associate)

MBChB(Otago) FRNZCGP

Amanda joined Raumati Road Surgery in July 2013. She has been a GP since 1994 and has lived on the Kapiti Coast with her husband and three children since 1999. Amanda currently enjoys working as a GP alongside her role as a clinical editor for the Wellington region GP health pathways website.

Dr Kate Fairbrother (Associate)

MBChB(Otago) MRNZCGP, BHSc(physio)

Kate joined the practice in 2016. After training and working as a physiotherapist she completed her training in medicine at Dunedin University graduating in 2006. She has worked in paediatrics and psychiatry subspecialty areas and now enjoys the variety of practice within the GP setting. She lives on the Kapiti Coast and when not working enjoys time with her family.

Dr Kate Mitchell (Associate)

MB ChB (Auckland) MRNZCGP

After graduating from Auckland Medical School Kate broadened her medical knowledge working as a Medical Registrar. Seeing people as a whole and working in preventative health became interests of hers and so she decided to change specialist training to General Practice. She moved back home to Wellington, and to the beautiful Kapiti Coast. Outside of work Kate loves spending time with her young extended family and adores a variety of interesting and alternative crafts.

Dr Kim Entwisle (Associate)

MBChB DRCOG FRNZCGP

Kim trained in the UK, graduating in 1991. She worked in hospitals in the Midlands and completed her GP training and the Diploma of Obstetrics and Gynaecology in 1995. She then worked in GP practices as a partner. In 2010 she relocated to Wellington with her family, working in Karori before joining Victoria University Student Health. This is where she developed her interest in working with young people. She lives on the Kapiti Coast and in her spare time enjoys art and cycling.

Dr Kirsten Taylor (Associate)

MBChB PGDipOMG DCH

Kirsten finished her medical training in Otago in 2012 and started working in Dunedin as a GP in 2015. She has a particular interest in women’s and children’s health and has done post-graduate diplomas in both these areas. When she’s not at work she is busy with her pre-school age children and enjoying life on the beautiful Kapiti Coast.
